Kings Highway Update History

I have completed the process of unifying the "Highway" and "Shield" Photo Galleries. All Ontario Highway photographs are now listed under a single 'Ontario Highways' section. The once proud 'Shield' area of the Photo Gallery has been consigned to the history books, and in it's place there is a placeholder for a new section called 'On the Road', which will one day (soon?) link to the small number of pictures I have managed to take on my travels beyond the borders of Ontario ...

The process of unifying the "Highway" and "Shield" photo galleries is now underway, and in fact is almost complete. Pictures of reassurance markers from the QEW/403, 401, and 12/48, plus additional junction signs and lastly the QEW Trailblazer (my personal favourite photograph) now all appear under their respective Highway Galleries.

Highway Photo Gallery overhauled, now includes thumbnails for easier browsing.
Coming up: Highway Shield Photo Gallery to be overhauled in a similar fashion. 407 ETR Gallery being produced. Freeway Interchange directory taken offline on a temporary basis ... it will be back soon. 427 exit list off the agenda for now.

Hwy 406 exit-list corrected, thanks to my recent purchase of MapArt's Golden Horseshoe Atlas, 2004 ed.!
Next item on the agenda: 427 exit list, since I need to get my format for Container-Collector freeways worked out. Following that I plan some improvements to the Photo Galleries, which aren't presented in an especially flattering manner right now.

Prior to December 2003

Unfortunately no proper update history exists prior to Dec 8th 2003. The site first went online in February 2003, and it was initially hosted on my personal domain (in fact you can still see the last incarnation of Kings Highway on that domain at http://www.valhayes.com/KingsHighway). This kingshighway.ca domain was created towards the end of March 2003.

Summer 2003 saw virtually no work done on the site, although a significant field trip was undertaken in May to photograph 407 ETR, the worlds' first fully-automated toll highway. Work commitments kept me at bay throughout the Autumn and it wasn't until October that I got around to work on the Freeway Interchange section, the first major feature added to the site since its' inception.
